Church and Clock Tower
15th century – building of a small Gothic church-hall. The polygonal choir has cross vaults, and is supported by buttresses. In the South there is an entrance with a pointed arch setting. The hall seems to be of a more recent date. It is lit by three round windows. In the North part of the choir, two wooden galleries are installed, one on top of the other. Next to the church, a low clock tower was built in 1792.
Furnishing
The 19th century altar has a stone built altar-table, over which the wooden altar rises. In the middle, there is a portrayal of Jesus with the Host, flanked by two Corinthian pillars with a gable above. The altar was manufactured in 1881 by Wilhelm Horbiger. The painting is a work by Carl Dörshclag. The stool was manufactured partly in the 16th century, partly contemporaneously with the altar. The stone pulpit has a baldachin dated 1775. The stone font is fluted and could be Gothic. The organ, built in 1857, was made by Samuel Binder from Schässburg. It has a manual keyboard and 8 registers. In 1926 repairs were done by the Wegenstein family. |
